It’s May and my mind is set on all the summer fruit that’s in season. Right now, I’m obsessed with fresh mango and pineapple. I have a BIG sweet tooth and eating fresh fruit helps me keep my sweet tooth tamed. I snack on it, throw it in my smoothies, and look for other ways to enjoy these sweet treats. Today, we’re going to review the recipe for one of my favorite versions of this treat: my mango goats milk popsicles!
The Ingredients List
- Goat Milk – 8 ounces (Any milk will work if you don’t have fresh goat milk)
- Fresh Mango – 240 grams or about 1 mango, cut up (1 1/2 cups frozen should works as well)
- 1 Scoop Vanilla Whey Protein powder (optional)
Making the Popsicles
- If using fresh mango, cut up mango.
- Add mango to blender
- Pour in 8oz of milk (i use my handy kitchen scale to measure)
- Add 1 scoop of protein powder
- Blend until smooth
- Carefully pour into popsicle molds
- Place mold in freezer for 4-8 hours or until frozen
- Once frozen, Enjoy! I like to rinse my mold under water and warm in my hand before pulling it out of the mold. This helps make it easier to pull out.
Why I Love This Recipe
Like I mentioned at the state, I love finding ways to enjoy tropical fruits this time of year. Kale and mango work well together blended up. Even better, top it on my go to snacks -Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. I refuse to buy individually packaged, flavored yogurt when I can make it simple, frugal, and healthy by adding mango (or really any other fruit). Sometimes, I like to add some spicy honey to it for a sweet and spicy kick.
According to Mango.org “3/4 cup of mango provides 50% of your daily vitamin C, 8% of your daily Vitamin A and 8% of your daily vitamin B6.” Adding this powerful fruit to a protein snack its a win win. According to Herbwisdom.com “A single serving of many brands of whey isolate may provide your body with all of the amino acids it needs to promote ideal health results from workout and fitness efforts.”
Personally, I have a goal of gaining muscle and try to sneak protein in any way I can. I understand protein powder can be expensive, and for some unnecessary. But, it’s something I’m willing to buy and consume. I buy Bodybuilding.com’s brand as it’s the best value and taste. I love snacks and when I can combine fresh ingredients that fuel my body and get my protein in, I’m happy.
Enjoy Your Mango Goats Milk Popsicles
As a kid, I gravitated more towards the fruity sweet treats than chocolate ones (as an adult i enjoy both). Fruit popsicles scream summer to me and with these mango goats milk popsicles I can use up some extra milk from our goat and get a healthy treat too! This recipe is quick and easy to make. So, go out and enjoy your summer with some sweat, healthy goodness.
Stay sweet peeps!
